Circuit Description
PCM will compare secondary current reading to predetermined maximum and minimum thresholds. If secondary current signal pulse is out of predetermined range, fail counter will be incremented. If failure counter exceeds calibration, test is complete and failure will be reported. If sample threshold is reached before failure threshold, test is complete and pass will be reported. PCM will detect an open or short circuit in secondary current sensing input circuit, misfire on entire bank for secondary current sense input circuit, coil failure and internal ION Sensing module faults. Conditions for setting DTC:
- Ignition voltage is between 10 and 16 volts.
- MAP sensor signal is between 26 and 100 kPa.
- Fuel level is more than 10 percent.
- Engine speed is between 650 and 6500 RPM.
- ION Sensing Module circuit has open or shorted signals.
