Circuit Description
Engine load is determined using a "speed density" method. This method is calculated using inputs from Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor, Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor and Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor. MAP sensor is main sensor used to calculate engine load. It is also used to determine manifold pressure changes during EGR flow test diagnosis, and to determine vacuum level during other diagnostic functions. If PCM detects a MAP sensor input voltage that is excessively low, DTC P0107 will be set.
Conditions required to set DTC are:
- No TP sensor DTCs present.
- Engine is running.
- Throttle angle is greater than zero percent if engine speed is 1300 RPM or less.
- Throttle angle is greater than 5 percent if engine speed is greater than 1300 RPM.
- MAP sensor indicates manifold absolute pressure less than 11 kPa.
