Diagnostic Procedures
- Perform OBD-II system check. See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC II (OBD-II) SYSTEM CHECK . After performing OBD-II system check, go to next step.
- Turn ignition on. With throttle closed, observe MAP value on scan tool. If MAP value indicates zero volts and 10.3 kPa (at sea level), go to step 4 . If MAP value does not indicate zero volts and 10.3 kPa, go to next step.
- With ignition on and engine off, review and record FAILURE RECORDS data on scan tool. Operate vehicle within FAILURE RECORDS conditions specified. Monitor specified DTC information. If scan tool indicates DTC P0107 failed, go to next step. If scan tool does not indicate DTC P0107 failed, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect MAP sensor. Using a fused jumper wire, connect MAP sensor harness connector Gray/Red and Gray wires together. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Observe MAP value displayed on scan tool. If reading is about 5 volts and 104 kPa, go to step 10 . If reading is not as specified, go to next step.
- Remove jumper wire from MAP sensor harness connector Gray/Red wire. Reconnect it at PCM harness connector terminal B1 (Gray/Red wire). See Figure . Observe MAP value displayed on scan tool. If reading is about 5 volts and 104 kPa, go to next step. If reading is not as specified, go to step 8 .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM harness connectors. Check for an open circuit or short to ground in Gray/Red wire between PCM harness connector terminal B1 and MAP sensor harness connector. See Figure and Figure . Repair as necessary. If no problem was found, go to next step.
- Inspect PCM harness connector terminals for damage or poor connection. Repair as necessary. If terminals are okay, go to step 11 .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM harness connectors. Using a DVOM, check for an open circuit or short to ground in Gray wire between MAP sensor harness connector and PCM harness connector terminal F8. See Figure and Figure . Repair as necessary. If no problem was found, go to next step.
- Inspect MAP sensor and PCM harness connectors for damaged terminals or poor terminal connection. Repair as necessary and retest system. If no problem was found, go to step 11 .
- Replace MAP sensor and retest system.
- Replace and reprogram PCM using required equipment. See PROGRAMMING . Retest system.
