Circuit Description

Fuel level is an important input to PCM for enhanced evaporative system diagnosis. Fuel level input is required to gauge rate of change in air pressure in EVAP system. Enhanced evaporative system diagnostic test will not be performed when fuel level is greater than 85 percent or less than 15 percent full. If PCM detects a continuous short to voltage in fuel level sensor or circuit, DTC P0463 will set.

Condition required for setting DTC is; fuel level signal voltage is greater than 4.94 volts. Condition is met for 150 out of 200 test samples.
