Circuit Description
Fuel level is an important input to PCM for enhanced evaporative system diagnosis. Fuel level input is required to gauge rate of change in air pressure in EVAP system. Enhanced evaporative system diagnostic test will not be performed when fuel level is greater than 85 percent or less than 15 percent full. If PCM detects a continuous open or high resistance in fuel level sensor or circuit, DTC P0462 will set.
Conditions required for setting DTC are:
- No fuel level DTCs set.
- Fuel level is more than 3 percent.
- Intake air temperature is more than 14°F (-10°C).
- Engine is running.
