Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Perform OBD-II system check. See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC II (OBD-II) SYSTEM CHECK  . After performing OBD-II system check, go to next step.
  2. Check to ensure that EEPROM calibration is most recent version available. See EEPROM PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE  under PROGRAMMING. If EEPROM calibration is most recent version available, go to step  4 .
  3. Reprogram PCM using required equipment. See PROGRAMMING  . Perform OBD-II system check. See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC II (OBD-II) SYSTEM CHECK  . If DTC P1618 resets, go to next step.
  4. Replace and reprogram PCM using required equipment. See PROGRAMMING  . Retest system.
