Code Enable Criteria

Following conditions must be met for DTC diagnostic test to run:

• Engine is running.
• Engine coolant temperature is 140°F (60°C) or more.
• System voltage is between 10-16 volts.

When above conditions are met, one of the following test will run:

Decel Test

• MAP signal is less than 35 kPa.
• Throttle position is less than .8 percent.
• Engine speed is between 1500-3500 RPM.

Decel test will fail if vehicle speed is less than 2 MPH. Decel test will pass if vehicle speed is 2 MPH or more.

Power Test

• MAP signal is 70 kPa or more.
• Throttle position is between 25-75 percent.
• Engine speed is between 2200-4400 RPM.

Power test will fail if vehicle speed is less than 2 MPH. Power test will pass if vehicle speed is 2 MPH or more, without any VSS DTCs being set, or vehicle speed is 30 MPH or more and VSS DTCs are set.
