Circuit Description

Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) signal pulses, along with CKP sensor pulses are used by PCM to initiate fuel injection. CMP and CKP sensor pulses are constantly being compared to each other. PCM will set DTC P0342 if CMP sensor pulses are not in proper ratio to CKP sensor reference pulses. Engine will start and run and PCM will initiate injector sequence with a one in 4 chance that sequence is correct.
