Front Object Alarm Detection System
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Cadillac DTS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
When the ignition is ON, the object detection system performs a bulb check. During the bulb check, the information center telltale assembly display located in the top of the IPC will illuminate all 3 indicators for approximately 2 seconds to indicate that the system is working. The information center telltale assembly display alerts the driver on how close an object is to the front bumper. The object detection system performs a bulb check of the information center telltale assembly display and operates when the following conditions are present:
- The ignition is ON.
- The vehicle is placed in DRIVE (D) for front parking aid.
- The vehicle speed is less than 8 km/h (5 mph).
At speeds greater than 8 km/h (5 mph), the object alarm detection system is disable. The red indicator flashes to warn the driver that the object detection system is disabled.
