SUBJECT: TAMPER-PROOF PLUG - ECU


Dealers should be aware that damage to the intermal circuitry of the ECU will be caused if any attempt is made to drill out the tamper-proof plug which covers the adjusting potentiometer. Should the need arise to make any adjustment to the ECU, a special tool, P/N 60 730551 referred to in Jaguar Technical Service Bulletin J82/32 issued in July, 1982, must be used.

The blanking plug which consists of an expanding slotted sleeve may be pulled out by inserting an instrument similar to a dental probe into the slots.
