Vehicle Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

RENEW

Drive the vehicle onto a ramp.
Open the bonnet and disconnect the battery earth lead.
Open the luggage compartment and remove the trim.
Disconnect the speed sensor cable harness block connector.
Raise the vehicle on the ramp.
Cut and remove cable straps.
Remove the bolts securing the speed sensor.
Displace and remove the sensor.

On refitting the sensor ensure with the the shims provided the air gap between the sensor probe and the toothed wheel is 0.5 to 0.9 mm.

Fitting a new sensor is the reversal of the removal procedure.
