Steering Wheel Centralizing

  1. Remove the battery cover.
  2. WARNING: WAIT AT LEAST ONE MINUTE BEFORE STARTING WORK, BECAUSE THE AIR BAG IS EQUIPPED WITH A BACK-UP POWER SOURCE AND MAY BE INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED.

  3. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  4. Remove the driver's air bag module; Refer to DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE .
  5. Release the horn harness multiplug from its secured position.

  6. Align the steering to the straight ahead position.
  7. Remove the steering wheel.
    1. Unscrew and remove the securing bolt.
    2. Remove the steering wheel from the steering column.
  8. Install the steering wheel.
    1. Align the steering wheel in the straight ahead position.
    2. Install the steering wheel on the steering column.
    3. Install the securing bolt and tighten to specification.
  9. Install the horn harness multiplug.

  10. Install the air bag module; Refer to DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE .
  11. Reconnect the battery.

  12. Install the battery cover.
