System Refrigerant Operating Pressures
High Side (15)
Low Side (15)
(1) Variable displacement capacity controlled by an external solenoid. Compressor displacement capacity of 160 cc and operates all of the time from 2-100 percent capacity. Compressor has no clutch.
(2) Pressure relief valve is incorporated in the compressor to relieve unusually high system pressure and prevent compressor damage. Valve closes after excessive pressure has been relieved.
(3) Belt tension is automatically adjusted by belt tensioner.
(4) In automatic mode, the climate control system will implement Cold Engine Lock Out (CELO). In CELO, blower motor will operate in low blower/defrost mode until engine reaches a required valve.
(5) Rear blower motor is controlled by rear auxiliary climate control assembly or by the touch screen on the instrument panel.
(6) Cooling fan is a variable speed fan. Speed is determined by coolant temperature, transmission oil temperature and A/C pressure. Fan may continue to operate for 4 minutes after engine has been shut off.
(7) Pressure cut off switch provides the Engine Control Module (ECM) a signal for compressor operation and is a Schrader mounted switch located on the compressor discharge line. If pressure falls below or rises above the specified range, ECM will disengage the compressor clutch.
(8) Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) is a block-type valve mounted on the evaporator core supply and return lines. It contains an internal sensing bulb to increase the effectiveness of temperature sensing. It only serviceable as a unit.
(9) Use PAG (WSH-MIC231-B) refrigerant oil.
(10) Add amount of oil that was withdrawn from the system during the recovery process to the amount specified. This amount is typically 1.0-1.4 ozs. (30-40 ml).
(11) The desiccant bag removes any retained moisture in the A/C system. The A/C system has an R-134a leak trace dye wafer incorporated into the desiccant bag.
(12) If system had been operational.
(13) The 2 zone system allows the front occupants to set individual temperatures for the left and right sides of the interior. The 4 zone system allows front and rear occupants to set individual temperatures (2 front zones and 2 rear zones).
(14) When adding refrigerant to system, engine speed must not exceed 2000 RPM for the first 2 minutes of compressor operation.
(15) Information not available from manufacturer.
