Engine Control Module (ECM) - Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery, Mounting and Cables .

  2. Remove the passenger side bulk head cover.

  3. Remove the engine control module (ECM) cover.

  4. Detach the ECM.

    5. NOTE: The ECM electrical connector retaining bolt remains captive in the electrical connector.
  5. Using the special tool remove the ECM.
