Possible Causes
NOTE:
The diagnostic monitors, for a plausible bidirectional signal by plausibility of pulse width. It also checks for a plausible calculated stop position
- Crankshaft position sensor circuit, short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance
- Crankshaft position sensor air gap to target rotor excessive, debris on sensor face, damaged teeth on rotor
- Incorrect crankshaft position sensor installed
- Crankshaft position sensor failure
