CONDITION SUMMARY

Situation:  Inadequate or non operation of All Wheel Drive (AWD) system after transfer case fluid change. This version has been issued for a change to the Affected vehicle range and the Service instruction sections. 

Cause:  The diagnostic routine 4013 within the Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) for the reset of the adaptation value for the oil change is not functioning properly.

Suggested Customer Concern Code - P31. 

Action:  Should a customer express concern, follow the Service Instruction outlined below.

SERVICE INSTRUCTION

NOTE: Make sure after carrying out transfer case draining and filling the latest procedure is followed (see TOPIx WorkShop Manual section 307-07).
CAUTION: This procedure requires SDD DVD137.04 and Calibration File 167 loaded or later.
  1. Connect the Jaguar approved battery support unit/power supply.
  2. Connect SDD to the vehicle and begin a new diagnostic session, by reading the vehicle identification number (VIN) for the current vehicle and initiating the data collect sequence.
  3. Follow the SDD prompts.
  4. Check the software level of the Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM).
    • This can be found under 'Part Information' in the Vehicle Statement Of Health (VSOH) screen.

  5. Selecting 'Part Information' displays the hardware and software part levels for the vehicle. Check the transfer case (TCCM) software level (vm_ecu_sw_pn).
    • If the TCCM software level is DW93-14C366-AF or later - the software update is not required.
    • If the TCCM software level is DW93-14C366-AE or earlier - carry out the software update.

  6. Where no internet access is available.
    1. Select Service Functions session type.
    2. From 'Recommendations', run: Configure existing module - Transfer case control module.
  7. When all tasks are complete, exit the current session by selecting the Session tab and then selecting the Close Session option.
  8. Disconnect SDD and the battery support unit/power supply.
