DTC P0702-04: Transmission Control System Electrical - System internal failures: Action
- Prioritized steps to perform:
- Check battery charge and condition. Record values
- Read all Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) and investigate any Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) relating to battery voltage supply
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check datalogger signal - Main ECU Supply Voltage (0xD112)
- Inspect wiring harness for any damage. Rectify as required
- Inspect the transmission control module connector and transmission connector for signs of water ingress, and pins for damage and/or corrosion. Rectify as required
- Inspect the transmission ground point for signs of damage and/or corrosion. Rectify as required
- Check engine compartment junction box Fuse 6E for signs of water ingress, and pins for damage and/or corrosion. Rectify as required
- Check and record resistance of transmission control module GND circuit for resistance to ground. Repair the high resistance fault as necessary
- Check and record resistance of VBATT circuit between transmission control module and the engine compartment junction box. Repair the high resistance fault as necessary
- Check and record resistance of IGN circuit between transmission control module and the body control module/gateway module. Repair the high resistance fault as necessary
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, reconfigure the transmission control module with the latest level software
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) and retest
- If the fault persists, raise a Technical Assist (TA) for further support
