DTC B1C38-11: Master Unlock Switch - Circuit short to ground: Action
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Code(s), switch the ignition OFF (wait for 60 seconds). Switch Ignition ON (make sure the Park switch is illuminated on the transmission control switch and the gear position indicator in the instrument cluster is displaying P) and run the transmission control switch On Demand Self Test. If the fault persists, replace the transmission control switch
- If the fault does not reappear after the On Demand Self Test, the root cause could be a transmission control switch software level or driver misuse. Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, update the transmission control switch software to the latest level (where available)
- If the transmission control switch software level is at the latest available, advise the customer to only press the selector lever unlock trigger centrally when initiating a gear selection and not to rest their hand on the selector lever while driving as this may result in the temporary loss of functionality of transmission control switch. If the unlock trigger button is released for 1 second this will then reset the transmission control switch and full functionality will be restored
