DTC B1C38-15: Master Unlock Switch - Circuit short to battery or open: Action
- Remove the selector lever handle cover and remove the screw at the center of the handle. Carefully remove the handle from the selector lever and inspect the pins on the handle for damage
- Inspect the pins on the transmission control switch. If ONLY the handle pins are damaged, replace the handle. If the pins on the transmission control switch are damaged, replace the transmission control switch. If NO pin damage is evident, then reinstall the handle and cover
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Code(s), switch the ignition OFF (wait for 60 seconds). Switch Ignition ON (make sure the Park switch is illuminated on the transmission control switch and the gear position indicator in the instrument cluster is displaying P) and run the transmission control switch On Demand Self Test. If the fault persists, replace the transmission control switch
