Fuel System Pressure Release
WARNING:
ALWAYS relieve fuel pressure before disconnecting any fuel injection-related component. DO NOT allow fuel to contact engine or electrical components.
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove fuel filler cap. Remove cap from pressure test port on fuel rail. See Fig 1. Place shop towels around pressure test port to absorb spilled fuel.
- Press the test port valve with a small screwdriver or punch wrapped in shop towels. Remove shop towels and dispose of properly. Install pressure test port cap.
