Test 100A - Repairing Wiper Park Switch
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION in this article. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Turn ignition off. Gain access to wiper motor connector. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, backprobe wiper motor connector (Dark Green/White wire). Go to next step.
- Turn ignition on and wiper switch to LO position. If voltage does not pulsate during wiper operation, go to step 5). If voltage pulsates during wiper operation, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect wiper motor connector. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Blue connector. BCM is located behind left side knee panel. Go to next step.
- Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of Dark Green wire between BCM Blue terminal No. 10 and wiper motor connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Dark Green wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace BCM.
- Turn wiper switch off. Disconnect wiper motor connector. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on wiper motor connector terminal No. 3 (Dark Blue wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Dark Blue wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace wiper motor.
