Test 77A - Diagnosing Door Lock Circuit
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION in this article. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Using scan tool, read auto door lock status. If scan tool does not display AUTO DOOR LOCKS ARE ENABLED, use scan tool to enable door locks and retest system. If scan tool displays AUTO DOOR LOCKS ARE ENABLED, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, actuate door locks. If doors do not lock, go to TEST 69A . If doors lock, ensure left front door is closed and go to next step.
- Using scan tool, read door ajar switch status. If scan tool does not display LFDOOR AJAR OPEN, go to TEST 26A . If scan tool displays LFDOOR AJAR OPEN, ensure right front door is closed and go to next step.
- Read door ajar switch status. If scan tool does not display RFDOOR AJAR OPEN, go to TEST 27A . If scan tool displays RFDOOR AJAR OPEN, ensure side door is closed and go to next step.
- Read door ajar switch status. If scan tool does not display SIDE DR AJAR OPEN, go to TEST 28A . If scan tool displays SIDE DR AJAR OPEN, ensure liftgate is closed and go to next step.
- Read door ajar switch status. If scan tool does not display GATE AJAR OPEN, go to TEST 29A . If scan tool displays GATE AJAR OPEN, go to next step.
- Read Body Control Module (BCM) monitors. If TP sensor percentage does not increase as throttle is opened, refer to appropriate TESTS W/CODES article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE section below to diagnose TP sensor DTCs. If TP sensor percentage increases as throttle is opened, go to next step.
- Raise and support vehicle. Start engine and shift vehicle into Drive. Using scan tool, read BCM monitors. If MPH increases as throttle is opened, turn ignition off. Circuit is operating properly. Retest system. If MPH does not increase as throttle is opened, see appropriate TESTS W/CODES article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE section to diagnose vehicle speed sensor problem.
