Verification Test VER-2A Road Test Verification
- Inspect vehicle to ensure all engine components are connected. Reassemble and reconnect components as necessary. If this verification test is being performed following a TROUBLE CODE test, go to next step. If this verification test is being performed following a NO TROUBLE CODE test, do the following:
- Check if initial symptom still is present.
- If initial or another symptom is present, the repair is not complete. Check any Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) that apply to vehicle. Return to TEST NTC-1A
if necessary.
- If another trouble code was read and not corrected, return to TEST TC-1A
and follow path specified by other trouble code(s). If Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has not been replaced, perform the following:
- Connect scan tool to data link connector, and erase trouble code messages.
- Using scan tool, reset all values in adaptive memory.
- Disconnect scan tool.
- To ensure no other fault remains, perform the following:
- If vehicle is equipped with A/C, turn on A/C and blower motor.
- Drive vehicle for at least 5 minutes and attain a speed of at least 40 MPH. Ensure transmission shifts through all gears. Upon completion of road test, turn engine off.
- Restart engine and let idle for at least 2 minutes. Turn engine off.
- Connect scan tool to data link connector and read all trouble code messages.
- If repaired trouble code has reset, repair is not complete. Check any Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) that apply to vehicle. Return to TEST TC-1A
if necessary. If another trouble code message is present, return to TEST TC-1A
and follow path specified by other trouble code message(s). If no other trouble code messages are present, repair is now complete.
