Test TC-171C - Governor Pressure Solenoid/Trans Relay CKTS

NOTE: Perform TEST TC-171A  before proceeding.
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article in this section.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect transmission solenoid connector. Inspect connector and terminals for damage. Repair connector and terminals as necessary and perform TEST VER-2A. If connector and terminals are okay, go to next step.
  2. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of governor pressure solenoid circuit between transmission relay connector and Powertrain Control Module (PCM). If resistance more than 5 ohms, repair short in governor pressure solenoid circuit and perform TEST VER-2A . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Drain and remove transmission pan. Reconnect transmission solenoid connector. Disconnect governor pressure solenoid connector. Check resistance of governor pressure solenoid circuit (Pink wire) between transmission relay connector and Powertrain Control Module (PCM). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace internal transmission wiring harness and perform TEST VER-2A . If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace governor pressure solenoid and perform TEST VER-2A.
