Powertrain Control Module (PCM)

PCM opens and closes ignition coil ground circuit to adjust ignition timing according to engine operating conditions. Amount of electronic spark advance provided by PCM is determined by ECT sensor, CKP sensor (engine RPM), MAP sensor and TP sensor inputs. For additional information, see POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM)  under COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS.
