Test 12F - Bus Short To Battery

  1. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between Body Control Module (BCM) Black connector, terminals No. 12 (Brown/Tan wire) and No. 19 (Violet/Brown wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Brown/Tan wire and Violet/Brown. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  2. Measure resistance between Body Control Module (BCM) Black connector, terminals No. 12 (Brown/Tan wire) and No. 20 (White/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Brown/Tan wire and White/Black. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  3. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance on BCM Black connector, terminal No. 16 (Black/Orange wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black/Orange wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  4. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance on BCM Black connector, terminal No. 2 (Light Green/White wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Light Green/White wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace BCM.
NOTE: For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAM  . After each repair, perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
