Test TC-50B - Trans 3-4 Solenoid/Trans Relay CKTS

NOTE: Perform TEST TC-50A before proceeding. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION DIRECTORY. For component location see wiring diagram in the WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
  1. Turn ignition off. Remove Transmission (TRANS) control relay. Inspect TRANS relay connector and terminals for damage. Repair connector and terminals as necessary and perform TEST VER-2A. If connector and terminals are okay, go to next step.
  2. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and TRANS control relay connector, TRANS control relay output circuit (Light Blue wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in TRANS control relay output circuit and perform TEST VER-2A. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
  3. Check resistance of TRANS control relay circuit (Light Blue wire) between TRANS solenoid connector and TRANS relay connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open TRANS control relay circuit and perform TEST VER-2A. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, check voltage on TRANS relay connector, fused B+ circuit (Red/White wire). If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open fused B+ circuit and perform TEST VER-2A. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace TRANS control relay and perform TEST VER-2A.
