CMTC Test 6A - CMTC Button Problems
NOTE:
Perform CMTC TEST 1A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
and WIRING DIAGRAM. Perform TEST VER-1A
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
- Turn ignition off. Access CMTC button assembly. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, backprobe terminal No. 2 on button assembly connector. See Fig 1 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace button assembly. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
- Press and hold STEP button. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, backprobe terminal No. 2 on button assembly connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace button assembly. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, backprobe terminal No. 3 on button assembly connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace button assembly. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
- Press US/M button. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, backprobe terminal No. 3 on button assembly connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace button assembly. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace CMTC module.
