Information Center Test 1A - Identifying Information Center System Problems

NOTE: Perform SYMPTOM ID TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAM and DOOR LOCKS - POWER & KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM article. Perform TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
  1. Using scan tool, select BODY, then VIC. If scan tool displays NO RESPONSE, go to TEST 11A  under VEHICLE COMMUNICATIONS.
  2. If information center display is flashing, set date and time. Close all doors when monitoring information center messages to reduce number of displayed messages. Read information center messages or scan tool messages. Perform appropriate test. See INFORMATION CENTER DIAGNOSTIC TEST DIRECTORY table.
