Speedometer Not Operating Properly

  1. Turn ignition off. Press and hold TRIP/RESET button on instrument panel. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. MIC self-test will start. All gauges including speedometer should sweep from zero to full scale, and back to zero. If all gauges passes self-test, go to next step. If speedometer fails self-test, replace speedometer gauge pack. If all gauges fail self-test, replace instrument cluster printed circuit test.
  2. Using scan tool, read ENGINE DTCs. If any engine DTCs are present, go to appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If no engine DTCs are present, test is complete.
