Body Verification Test
- Disconnect all jumper wires and reconnect all previously disconnected components and connectors.
- If Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) or Powertrain Control Module (PCM) was replaced, go to step 6. If SKIM or PCM was not replaced, go to next step.
- If Body Control Module (BCM) was replaced, turn ignition on for 15 seconds to learn Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or engine may not start (if equipped with VTSS). Use scan tool to enable Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) and program options as necessary.
- If Passenger's Door Module (PDM) was replaced, use scan tool to program all Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitters into new PDM.
- If repairs were made to A/C system, disconnect battery or use scan tool to recalibrate A/C doors. Then go to step 13. If no repairs were made to A/C system, go to next step.
- Obtain vehicles unique PIN assigned to original SKIM.
- Using scan tool, select THEFT ALARM, SKIM, MISCLANEOUS then SKIM REPLACED. Enter 4-digit PIN to place SKIM in secured access mode.
- Follow scan tool on-screen instructions. Enter country code. Program vehicles VIN into SKIM memory. Transfer vehicles secret key data from PCM.
- Skim will remain in secured access mode for 60 seconds.
- Using scan tool, program all existing customer Sentry Keys into new SKIM. SKIM must be in secured access mode.
- If PCM is replaced, VIN and Secret Key data must be transferred from SKIM to PCM. SKIM must be in secured access mode.
- If secured access mode is attempted 3 times using incorrect PIN, secured access mode will be locked out for one hour and scan tool will display BUS +/- SIGNALS OPEN. To exit lock out, turn ignition switch on for one hour.
- Ensure battery is fully charged and all accessories and lights are off.
- Ensure ignition is on. Erase all DTCs using scan tool. Start engine and allow to run for 2 minutes. Operate previously malfunctioning system.
- Turn ignition off and wait 5 seconds. Turn ignition on and check for DTCs in all modules.
- If any DTCs are present, go to SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM . If no DTCs are present, system is operating correctly and customer's complaint cannot be duplicated, repair is complete.
