Ignition System: Service Precautions

CAUTION:
- Never use a motorized wire wheel brush to clean the spark plugs. Metallic deposits will remain on the spark plug insulator and will cause plug misfire.
- Do not leave any one spark plug cable disconnected for longer than necessary during testing. This may cause possible heat damage to the catalytic converter. Total test time must not exceed ten minutes.
- If the distributor cap is incorrectly positioned on distributor housing , cap or rotor may be damaged when engine is started.
