Removal & Installation (With Overhead Console)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove front screws securing overhead console to windshield opening reinforcement. See Fig 1. To release overhead console from rear mounting bracket, gently pull both sides of overhead console housing outward, near overhead mounting bracket.
  2. Move overhead console forward to disengage rear mounting tab from headliner. Lower overhead console far enough to access harness connectors. Disconnect harness connectors and remove overhead console from vehicle.
  3. Remove overhead console housing screws. Remove 6 overhead console housing-to-overhead console bezel screws. See Fig 2. Gently flex sides of overhead console housing far enough to clear tabs on rear console housing and remove console housing from bezel. Remove 2 screws securing RKE module circuit board to rear overhead console housing. Remove RKE module circuit board from housing. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten screws to 20 INCH lbs. (2.2 N.m).
