EEPROM Checksum Failure

Monitored & Set Condition

  1. When Monitored: Each time the DRBIII(R) request DTCs from the BCM, the BCM runs an EEPROM checksum test.
  2. Set Condition: The DTC will set if the BCM detects an EEPROM checksum failure.

Possible Causes:

Testing

  1. Connect the DRBIII(R) to the Data Link Connector. Turn the ignition on. With the DRBIII(R), erase BCM DTC's. Turn the ignition off then turn the ignition on. With the DRBIII(R), read BCM DTC's. Did the DTC reset? If yes, reflash or replace the Body Control Module. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  . Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  . If no, test is complete.
