Vehicle Theft Security System Verification Test

  1. Ensure all doors, tailgate, and tailgate flip-up glass are closed.
  2. Open the driver door.
  3. Remove the ignition key (but keep in hand).
  4. Lock the doors with RKE transmitter or power door lock switch.
  5. Close the driver door.
  6. If the VTSS Indicator Lamp flashes rapidly and after approximately 16 seconds changes to a slower flash, the system is operational.
  7. If the indicator fails to flash as described, there is a problem with the system. Select the Identifying VTSS symptom from the SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION  table for the related symptom(s) to troubleshoot. Does the VTSS Indicator Lamp flash as specified? If yes, repair is complete. If no, repair is not complete, refer to SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION  table for the related symptom(s).
