Standard Procedure - Riv-Nut Repair

- Remove the old riv-nut by grinding the head off.
- Remove the damaged nut from the frame using a magnet or equivalent.
- Using a long full threaded bolt and thread a nut to the near of the head of the bolt.
- Put a larger nut onto the bolt so that it is free spinning on the bolt with the bearing side away from the head of the bolt.
- Thread the riv-nut onto the end of the bolt.
- Insert the riv-nut and bolt into the hole in the frame.
- Hold the larger nut with a wrench and torque the nut against the larger nut to collapse the riv-nut.
