Diagnostic Test

  1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
    3. Press the Memory Set Switch several times in all positions.
    4. Cycle the ignition from on to off 3 times.
    5. Turn the ignition on.
    6. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display: B1D4D-MEMORY SWITCH INPUT CIRCUIT STUCK?

      Yes 

      • Go to step  2

      No 

  2. CHECK THE DRIVER WINDOW/DOOR LOCK SWITCH FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

    1. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
    2. Turn the ignition off.
    3. Disconnect the Driver Window/Door Lock Switch C2 connector.
    4. Cycle the ignition 3 times.
    5. Turn the ignition on.
    6. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display: B1D4D-MEMORY SWITCH INPUT CIRCUIT STUCK?

      Yes 

      • Go to step  3

      No 

  3. CHECK THE MEMORY SET SWITCH FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

    1. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
    2. Turn the ignition off.
    3. Disconnect the Memory Set Switch connector.
    4. Cycle the ignition 3 times.
    5. Turn the ignition on.
    6. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display: B1D4D-MEMORY SWITCH INPUT CIRCUIT STUCK?

      Yes 

      • Go to step  4

      No 

  4. CHECK THE (G160/G161) RIGHT/LEFT DOOR LOCK SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Driver Door Module C2 connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (G160/G161) Right/Left Door Lock Switch Mux circuit in the Driver Door Module C2 connector.

      Is the resistance below 10000.0 ohms?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go to step  5
  5. CHECK THE (G160/G161) RIGHT/LEFT DOOR LOCK SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (Z911) GROUND CIRCUIT

    1. Measure the resistance between the (G160/G161) Right/Left Door Lock Switch Mux circuit and the (Z911) Ground circuit in the Driver Door Module C2 connector.

      Is the resistance below 10000.0 ohms?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go to step  6
  6. CHECK THE (G160/G161) RIGHT/LEFT DOOR LOCK SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (G775/G776) LEFT/RIGHT DOOR LOCK SWITCH RETURN CIRCUIT

    1. Measure the resistance between the (G160/G161) Right/Left Door Lock Switch Mux circuit and the (G775/G776) Left/Right Door Lock Switch Return circuit in the Driver Door Module C2 connector.

      Is the resistance below 10000.0 ohms?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go to step  7
  7. CHECK THE (P439) MEMORY SELECT SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

    1. Disconnect the Driver Door Module C3 connector.
    2. Measure the resistance between ground and the (P439) Memory Select Switch Mux circuit in the Driver Door Module C3 connector.

      Is the resistance below 10000.0 ohms?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go to step  8
  8. CHECK THE (P439) MEMORY SELECT SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (G920) MEMORY SELECT SWITCH RETURN CIRCUIT

    1. Measure the resistance between the (P439) Memory Select Switch Mux circuit and the (G920) Memory Select Switch Return circuit in the Driver Door Module C3 connector.

      Is the resistance below 10000.0 ohms?

      Yes 

      No
