Position the generator to the engine.
Install the lower rear then upper mounting bolt (1).
Install the front lower stud nut bolt (2).
Torque the bolts to 41 N.m (30 ft. lbs.).
Snap the field wire connector (3) into the rear of the generator.
Install the B+ terminal eyelet to the generator output stud.
Tighten the mounting nut to 12 N.m (108 in. lbs.).

CAUTION:
Never force a belt over a pulley rim using a screwdriver. The synthetic fiber of the belt can be damaged.

CAUTION:
When installing a serpentine accessory drive belt, the belt must be routed correctly. The water pump may be rotating in the wrong direction if the belt is installed incorrectly, causing the engine to overheat. Refer to belt routing label in engine compartment, or Refer to ACCESSORY DRIVE .
Install the serpentine belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION .
Install the air cleaner body. BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION or BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION, 5.7L or BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .
Install the negative battery cable.
