Diagnostic Test

  1. ACTIVE ABS OR EPS DTCS 
    NOTE:

    If this fault was present along with ABS or EPS DTC C0054-54, a battery disconnect may have caused this fault to set. Perform the EPS Sensor learn routine.

    NOTE:

    Diagnose all CAN B and C communication DTCs before continuing.

    1. Ignition on, engine not running.
    2. With a scan tool, view DTCs.

      Was the DTC C0054-54 present along with this fault?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • Go To  3
  2. INITIALIZE EPS MODULE 
    1. With the scan tool, under "Miscellaneous Functions" run the EPS Learn routine.
    2. Cycle the ignition off to on.
    3. With the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
    4. Cycle the ignition off to on.
    5. Wait ten seconds.
    6. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.

      Did the DTC return as active or pending?

      Yes 

      • Go To  3

      No 

      • Test complete.
  3. SAS COMMUNICATION RELATED DTCs IN OTHER MODULES 
    1. With the scan tool, select Network Diagnostics.

      Is there more than one module with active DTCs "Logged Against" the SAS at this time?

      Yes 

      • Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX and perform the U110A-87-Lost Communication with SCM - CAN C - Missing Message diagnostic procedure.

      No 

      • Using the schematics as a guide, check the Transmission Control Module (TCM) terminals and connectors for corrosion, damage or pushed out terminals. Pay particular attention to the power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace the TCM and perform programming procedures. Refer to MODULE, TRANSMISSION CONTROL, REMOVAL .
      • Perform the Transmission Verification Test. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
