Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
1. With the scan tool, read RBSS DTCs and record on the repair order.
2. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
3. Cycle the ignition from on to off, wait five seconds and then back to on.
4. With the scan tool, read RBSS DTCs.
  Did the DTC return?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 2
  No
  - Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
CHECK THE CAN CIRCUITS FROM THE RBSS TO THE BCM
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the RBSS Module harness connector and the BCM harness connector.
3. Check the circuits for opens or shorts.
  Are there any circuits shorted or open?
  
  Yes
  - Repair the circuits that are open or shorted.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 3
CHECK BCM AND RBSS HARNESS CONNECTORS
1. Check the RBSS and BCM harness connectors.
  Are there any problems with the harness connectors?
  
  Yes
  - Restore the correct function of the connector.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 4
CHECK THE BCM POWER SUPPLY CIRCUITS
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the BCM harness connector.
3. Check the BCM power supply circuits with a test light.
  Does the test light illuminate brightly?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 5
  No
  - Repair the BCM Power supply circuits.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
CHECK THE RBSS POWER SUPPLY CIRCUITS
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the RBSS harness connector.
3. Check the RBSS power supply circuits with a test light.
  Does the test light illuminate brightly?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 6
  No
  - Repair the RBSS Power supply circuits.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
CHECK THE BCM FUNCTIONALITY
1. Check for proper operation of the BCM.
  Does the BCM operate correctly?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 7
  No
  - Replace the BCM.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
CHECK THE RBSS FUNCTIONALITY
1. Check for proper operation of the RBSS.
  Does the RBSS operate correctly?
  
  Yes
  - Test complete.
  No
  - Replace the Right Blind Spot Sensor (RBSS) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to SENSOR, BLIND SPOT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
