Engine Cooling System: Engine: Thermostat: Installation: 3.6L
- Clean the mating surfaces on the timing cover and thermostat housing.

- Install a NEW
thermostat housing gasket (1).

- Install the thermostat housing and tighten the bolts (1) finger tight.

- Using the tighten sequence shown in illustration tighten the bolts the proper specification. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS .

- Connect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor (1) wire harness connector.

- Install the upper radiator hose (1) onto the thermostat housing.

- Install the coolant hose (1) onto the thermostat housing.
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Install the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION
.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature. Check the cooling system for leaks and correct fluid level. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM LEAKS .
