Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- With the scan tool, read PAM DTCs and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read PAM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK THE PCM FOR LOSS OF COMMUNICATION
- With the scan tool, communicate with the PCM.
Is communication possible with the PCM?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Perform the COMMUNICATION DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE. Refer to COMMUNICATION DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
- With the scan tool, communicate with the PCM.
- CHECK THE DATA VALUES IN THE PCM AND PAM
- With the scan tool, communicate with the PCM and PAM and check for any missing, incorrect sensor, data values, or SNA (Signal Not Available) inputs.
Were there any problems found?
Yes
- Repair the missing or incorrect data values in the EPS.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Make sure that the PCM is fully up to date. If not, flash the PCM to most current update. If problem still exist, replace the PCM.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- With the scan tool, communicate with the PCM and PAM and check for any missing, incorrect sensor, data values, or SNA (Signal Not Available) inputs.
