Section 249 (Charging (Service Information)): Generator: Installation: 3.0L

- Position the generator to the vehicle for installation.
- Install the upper generator bolt.
- Install the lower generator bolt. You may need to reposition the generator to get the bolt hole in the intermediate bearing shaft support and the generator to line up properly.
- Connect all connectors to the generator.
- Position the exhaust back into proper position and install bolts to the flange to secure.
- Install the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) injector. Refer to INJECTOR, DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID, INSTALLATION .
- Install the serpentine belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION - 3.0L DIESEL .
- Connect the negative battery cables.
