Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR ACTIVE B1BAA-OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION MODULE CONFIGURATION MISMATCH
1. With the scan tool, read Occupant Restraints Controller (ORC) DTC.
  Does the scan tool display an active: B1BAA-OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION MODULE CONFIGURATION MISMATCH DTC?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 2
  No
  - Go To 5
CHECKING FOR CORRUPT CONFIGURATION MESSAGE
1. With the scan tool, read Occupant Restraints Controller (ORC) DTC.
  Does the scan tool display an active: U1414-IMPLAUSIBLE/MISSING ECU NETWORK CONFIGURATION DATA DTC?
  
  Yes
  - Perform the U1414-IMPLAUSIBLE/MISSING ECU NETWORK CONFIGURATION DATA diagnostic procedure. Refer to U1414-IMPLAUSIBLE/MISSING ECU CONFIGURATION DATA .
  No
  - Go To 3
CHECKING FOR LOSS OF CAN BUS CONFIGURATION MESSAGE
1. With the scan tool, read Occupant Restraints Controller (ORC) DTC
  Does the scan tool display an active U1415-IMPLAUSIBLE/MISSING VEHICLE CONFIGURATION DATA DTC?
  
  Yes
  - Perform the U1415-IMPLAUSIBLE/MISSING VEHICLE CONFIGURATION DATA diagnostic procedure. Refer to U1415-IMPLAUSIBLE/MISSING VEHICLE CONFIGURATION DATA .
  No
  - Go To 4
CHECKING FOR LOSS OF COMMUNICATION WITH THE TIPM
1. With the scan tool, read Occupant Restraints Controller (ORC) DTC.
  Does the scan tool display an active: U0141-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH IPM (FCM/TIPM)?
  
  Yes
  - Refer to U0141-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH IPM (FCM/TIPM) and perform the U0141-Lost Communication with IPM (FCM/TIPM) diagnostic procedure.
  No
  - Go To 6
VERIFYING STORED B1BAA-OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION MODULE CONFIGURATION MISMATCH DTC
1. With the scan tool, record and erase all DTC from the Occupant Restraint Controller.
2. Turn the ignition off, and wait 15 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
3. Wait one minute, and read active and stored codes.
  Does the scan tool display an active or stored B1BAA-OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION MODULE CONFIGURATION MISMATCH DTC?
  
  Yes
  - For active DTC-Go To 2
  Yes
  - For stored DTC-Go To 6
  No
  - Perform the AIRBAG SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to AIRBAG SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST .
REPLACE THE ORC
WARNING:
Turn the ignition off, disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

WARNING:
If the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) is dropped at any time, it must be replaced. Failure to take the proper precautions can result in accidental airbag deployment. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

Repair
- Replace the ORC in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER, REMOVAL .
- Perform the AIRBAG SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to AIRBAG SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST .
