Module, Powertrain Control (Pcm): Installation: 2.4L/3.2L

CAUTION:
If a new powertrain control module is being installed, use a scan tool to reprogram the new module with the original vehicle identification number (VIN) and original mileage. If this step is not performed, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will set.
- If removed, install the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) mount (3). Tighten the bolts (2) to the proper torque.
Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Position the PCM to the mount.
- Install the ground wire if removed. Install and tighten the nut to the proper torque. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the nuts (3) Tighten to the proper torque. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the PCM wire harness connectors.
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.NOTE:
If the module is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to align the PROXI configuration data into the new. Follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment.
- Perform the PCM programming procedure. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL (PCM), MODULE PROGRAMMING .
