Diagnostic Test

CHECK THE VEHICLE CONFIGURATION
NOTE:
The DTC must be active and no Controller Area Network (CAN) communication DTCs present before performing this test. If CAN communication DTCs are present, perform there respective test first. If the DTC is stored, erase the DTC and cycle the ignition. If the DTC resets and changes to active, then proceed.
- With the scan tool, check the vehicle configuration stored in the Body Control Module (BCM).
- With the scan tool, check the vehicle configuration stored in the Drivetrain Control Module (DTCM).
Pick the answer that best describes your findings:
BCM has wrong or no vehicle configuration.
- With the scan tool, program the proper vehicle configuration in the BCM.
- Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST .
DTCM has wrong vehicle configuration but BCM has correct configuration.
- Replace the DTCM in accordance with the Service information. Refer to MODULE, DRIVETRAIN CONTROL (DTCM), REMOVAL .
- Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST .
BCM and DTCM are configured correctly.
- Replace the Transfer Case Selector Switch in accordance with the Service information.
- Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST .
