Control Unit, Def Heater: Removal

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the left rear wheel and tire.
- Partially remove the left rear wheel house to gain access to the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Heater Control Unit (HCU). Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, WHEELHOUSE REMOVAL - REAR
.
- Disconnect the DEF HCU wire harness connector (3).
- Remove the nut (1) and the DEF HCU (2).
