Module, Security Gateway (SGW): Removal

NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, use a diagnostic scan tool to perform the Flash Programming Procedure (if available). 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the passenger side cowl panel (Refer to PANEL, COWL TRIM, SIDE REMOVAL .

    NOTE:

    The Security Gateway Module (SGW) is mounted to the Heating Venting and Air Conditioning (HVAC) case on the passenger side.

  3. Remove the bracket bolts (2) and disconnect the SGW wire harness connectors (1).

  4. Remove the screws (1) that secure the SGW to the bracket.
  5. Remove the module from the vehicle.
