Rear Driveline Module (RDM) Operation

Rear Driveline Module (RDM) operation diagnosis. Refer to the following chart:

CONDITION POSSIBLE CAUSES CORRECTION
No All Wheel Drive (AWD) in forward or reverse directions, propeller shaft turning.
  • Check Torque Vectoring Module (TVM) for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
  • Review TVM diagnostic section.
  • RDM failure.
  • Diagnose and repair or replace as necessary.
No AWD in forward or reverse directions, propeller shaft not turning.
  • Check TVM for DTCs.
  • Review TVM diagnostic section.
  • Transfer case component failure.
  • Diagnose and repair or replace as necessary.
Vibration at all speeds, continuous torque transfer.
  • Mis-matched tires, worn tires on front axle.
  • Replace worn or incorrect (mis-matched) tires with same make and size.
