Removal And Installation: 1.6L

REMOVAL 

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATIONCOVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  2. Disconnect the PCM wire harness connectors (1).
  3. Remove the nuts (2a) and the PCM (2b).

INSTALLATION 

  1. Install the PCM and securely tighten the nuts.
  2. Connect the wire harness connectors to the PCM.
  3. Install the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATIONCOVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. In the event of Powertrain Control Module (PCM) replacement: connect the diagnosis scan tool to the vehicle, go to "PCM" and then the "Miscellaneous functions" menu and start the "Control unit replacement" procedure. With the key at OFF and the hazard warning light button activated, go to Body Control Module "(BCM)" and then the "Miscellaneous functions" menu and start the "Secret key transfer" procedure.
NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
